Project Description: Roofing Upgrade in Hulme, Manchester

We are thrilled to showcase our recently completed roofing project in Hulme, Manchester, where we had the privilege of working on Wesley Community Furniture’s facility for one of our valued and long-standing clients. This project presented an exciting opportunity to enhance the existing roof for improved thermal performance and weatherproofing.

Scope of Work:

Our dedicated team undertook the task of upgrading the existing roof, which involved the following key steps:

1. Thermal Upgrade: To enhance energy efficiency and thermal insulation, we used 120mm PIR tissue-faced insulation. This ensured that the building would be better equipped to regulate temperature and reduce energy consumption.

2. Waterproofing:  For reliable and robust waterproofing, we opted for the high-quality Alwitra Single Ply Membrane VSK. This product is known for its durability and excellent waterproofing capabilities, ensuring long-lasting protection for the structure.

3. Hard Work and Dedication: Our skilled operatives worked tirelessly, putting in 12-14 hour days, to complete the entire roof installation in under a week. Their commitment to delivering exceptional results played a crucial role in the success of this project.

4. Enhanced Drainage: Our office collaborated closely with the design team to make strategic decisions that would improve the overall functionality of the roofing system. As part of this, we opened up outlets to create a more efficient drainage system, ensuring that rainwater is effectively channeled away from the roof.

5. Exterior Transformation: In addition to the technical upgrades, we also opted to remove all coping stones and fully wrap the entire roof in the Alwitra Single Ply Membrane, providing a sleek and uniform appearance that enhances the building’s aesthetics.

Results:

The 300m2 roof project in Hulme, Manchester, has been a resounding success. The roofing system now boasts superior thermal performance, enhanced waterproofing, and an improved drainage system.
